Mt Trashmore in VB was a legendary landmark in Vertical Skateboarding on the East Coast. From the old ramp that stood for years and hosted many a classic contest, to all the talent that came from the surrounding area, VB will always have a history in skateboarding. Finally, after at least ten years, the city has decided to build the community another Trashmore. It's safe to say the original Trashmore will not be replicated. The overall plan calls for seven feet at the deepest in the bowl and a token street area. The park is being built by True Ride. There is talk of spreading the love around the area by building more parks in different lo-cals. Talking with the Windsor Woods crew I know they would like to see some vert! Hell some of the best vert riders on the East Coast hail from VB. Sergie Ventura, the Gutierrez brothers, Henry, Glen, and Eddie, Pee Wee, Mike Conroy, Mike Cresini all those guys are still charging everyday! Hopefully some vert will come in the way of some concrete, or they can get a real vert ramp up somewhere to keep the tradition alive. In the mean time I'll go ahead and start putting some pics of the park here on this page. If I can get my hands on any old shots, I'll put em up to. Forks for life!

New park plans and pics: Here is a link to some town news if you care about this sort of thing.

I heard this park will be free and unmanned? Correct me if I am wrong guys, but that makes it worth the two hour drive from here. I took these shots around the 25th of July, The workers out there said they may wrap it up in two weeks. Thanks to Oscar for the last two pics. 7/30/03

Here is a link with some more logistics.

O8/13/03: Trashmore is open! It is free, unsupervised and wear pads at your own discretion. There was a press release sent out to some web sites featuring skateparks, here it is.

08/19/03: These four photos were taking by Glenn G., Kyle Berard in the house. These shots without the helmet might be a thing of the past. They are considering hiring a park attendant, charging a fee, and enlisting a helmet rule??? More on this when it happens.

09/12/03: Looks like skateboarding dodged another bullet, sorta... VB decided to just roll with just the helmet law at the park instead of paying with full pads. Thanks go out to Scott Greene for pointing this out, I can only hope our emails swayed them Scott. Here is the press release

11/14/03: Havn't heard much from the Trashmore park lately, Ronnie "Big Daddy" sent these to shots in taken by Glen Gutierrez. He did mention that the crowd has mellowed and the media hype is non existing now that you have to wear helmets.

He also informed me about Ronnie jrs birthday bowl bash at the Trashmore Bowl. I think it is the 22nd of Nov? Get with me Ronnie and I'll set the folks straight.
